This is another one of my Oblique pieces. Writing this was a pure piece of adventure: I had no idea where I was going or when I would arrive. The ending was as much a surprise to me as I hope it is to you. The only rule I followed when I wrote this piece was to withhold one key piece of information. When people ask me what the joke actually was, all I can do is smile.
